Forgotten Bones î An unlikely pair teams up to investigate a brutal murder in a haunting thriller that walks the line between reality and impossibilityWhen small town police officers discover the grave of a young boy they’re uick to pin the crime on a convicted felon who lives nearby But when it comes to murder Officer Susan Marlan never trusts a simple explanation so she?. The most positive thing that I can say about this is that I like that one of the main characters Eric is a schizophrenic who with the aid of appropriate medication is able to live very successfully with the condition and most people would be totally unaware I also like the other main character of Susan who is dogged determined and caring Unfortunately the book is so up and down in terms of pace I found it hard not to nod off at times For example the laborious detail about Eric’s geology class or the minutiae of Susan choosing her flavour of coffee Who gives a flying fig Did it add to the story Noooo 😴 There were one or two moments of humour which was light relief from the dark and weird storyline but then frivolous words are used on occasions that are serious and so sets the wrong tone and a jarring note Overall it’s a spooky story with an abundance of deaths At times it was uite eerie and at others a yawn Free read Ó PDF, DOC, TXT, eBook or Kindle ePUB free ☆ Vivian Barz

I was offered an advance copy in exchange for a review“Forgotten Bones” was a genuinely good read The story centers around Eric and Susan a college professor and Police Officer respectively and an ongoing child murderer case in the small town of Perrick CA The book has great pacing making it an easy and enjoyable read I loved how it went back and forth between the two main characters giving you just the right amount of information about them during their parts and not making you feel overwhelmed Overall both Susan and Eric are very likable and Vivian does a great job at making the reader be invested in her characters both good and bad I admit I was a little worried at first when I found out that Eric suffered from schizophrenia due to most characters with this mental illness being usually portrayed as crazy and violent However I was relieved to find out that that was not the case in this book I think the only problem I had with the book was the ending sort of It wasn’t completely predictable but I definitely had a hunch At least for one part of it I’ve read Vivian’s shorter horror work before and was glad to see that side of her in this book She’s really good at painting those horrifying hallucinations in the reader’s head She has yet to disappoint and am looking forward to what she comes out with next I saw on the back of the book that it said “Dead Remaining Book 1” I’m dead excited for the next one
